OUR SERVICES

WHO WE WORK WITH

Private Households

The core of our business is our work with households and families — fostering a connection to how food is grown and helping our community become healthier and more self-sufficient.

Residential Properties

Hey HOAs & property managers — you can reallocate your current landscape resources to edible perennials or build a community garden which can feed residents and be a valuable gathering place.

Communities

Do you have an empty lot, parking strip or dead-end street in your neighborhood? Have us turn that unusable space into a valuable asset that provides nutritious food and builds community.

Businesses

Utilize unused space on your business property to grow nutritious food! Give it to employees or donate to communities who have an economic or transit barrier from accessing fresh, organic food.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“My daughter and I now have a routine when we come home from school and work — harvesting from the garden and preparing dinner together. Our veggies are more flavorful than the grocery store. I feel like my taste buds are changing. ”

“Having a living salad bar in the backyard is amazing. Everything tastes so fresh, and the kids enjoy eating the vegetables they harvest. It’s like a Whole Foods outside my door…but better.”

MEET THE TEAM

Newfound Foodscapes is husband and wife team, Marcus Carini and Beth Leonardo. Marcus and Beth live in Alameda, California, where they are also brand designers together at Double Six Design and partners in homeschooling their two uber-creative children. A culture of self-growth and intentional living is an integral part of daily life for their family.

MARCUS CARINI

Marcus founded Newfound Foodscapes in 2021 to connect with his community and encourage a stronger connection with a local food system.

Marcus’s introduction to gardening was with his parents in his San Diego backyard as a kid. Growing up with hippy parents, a chef-dad, and an Italian immigrant family made both growing food and family mealtime a priority at home.

Marcus has been honing his gardening and woodworking skills for over 10 years alongside his professional role as a brand designer. The combination of fine art and commercial art experience gives Marcus an affinity for combining both form & function in the garden.

BETH LEONARDO

Beth Leonardo is a passionate urban environmentalist who first became interested in gardening and homesteading in an effort to make a positive ecological impact.

Beth’s career designing branding and packaging for consumer brands provided a behind-the-curtain look at an industrial food system that prioritizes profit over the health of people and the earth and a heightened awareness of the lasting impact of single-use packaging.

Designing edible permaculture gardens for families combines Beth’s design background with her passion for ecological land stewardship — nourishing the community while healing the land.
